CRD Population Growth & Potential

Posted February 14, 2012

CHEK TV news 10 February 2012 - a 3 minute video re Westshore Growth of 30%  v.s. Victoria  4% is causing a number of livability problems that will demand more infrastructure; this program identifies a few of those problems but neglects the need for more public transport options.  One of those could be solved within a year, IF CRD recognizes the potential of the railroad that already leads to downtown, funds refurbishment and acquires the commuter trams that could move some 400 passengers from Langford to Downtown via Naden every morning and return every evening, plus offer day long use 20 minute rides for shoppers in both directions.

Reminder to all who now drive in the Colwood Crawl, it may be five more years before the much heralded LRT service via Uptown Mall will offer any relief for  TransCanada Hwy 1, Burnside and Craigflower routes.
