Why not Rail on the Bridge?

Johnson Street Bridge Org of Victoria BC has posted a new item, 'A Proposal to Save Rail on the new Johnson Street Bridge'

The original was sent to Victoria's mayor and councillors, in anticipation of their council meeting on Thursday, November 24, 2011. It was cc'd to Westshore mayors, the chair and vice-chair of the CRD's transportation committee, the Island Corridor Foundation, and Victoria's incoming councillors.

I have been arguing for such an outcome ever since the Council first announced an unwillingness to "pay for" rail on the new bridge! It makes absolutely no sense to terminate the E&N, or its commuter extension from Langford, short of downtown and complete connections to the rest of the transit system there.
